Our Statement Of Faith<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

This assembly shall stand for the following Statement of Faith as approved by the assembly:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Scripture <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament Scriptures alone to be verbally inspired by God and inerrant (without error) in the original text, and that they alone are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (Mt. 5:18; Jn.10:35b, 17:17; 2 Tim. 3:16\u201317; 2 Pet. 1:20\u201321)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

God<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe in one God who is Creator of heaven and earth, who is infinite Spirit, light, love, and truth; eternal, almighty, infallible in all things, including His foreknowledge of all future events as well as all free choices; that He is unchangeable, all wise, just, and holy; and that the triune God eternally exists in one essence\/nature and three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

(Genesis 1:1, 26; 3:22; 11:7; Isaiah 6:8, 48:16, 61:1; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14) (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Galatians 3:20; 1 Timothy 2:5)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Each member of the Trinity is God. <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Father is God (John 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Peter 1:2). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Son is God (John 1:1, 14; Romans 9:5; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:8; 1 John 5:20). <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Creation <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe in the special creation of the entire space-time universe and of every basic form of life in the six historic days of the Genesis creation record. We also believe in the historical accuracy of the biblical record, including the special creation of Adam and Eve as the literal progenitors\/predecessors of all people, the literal fall and resultant divine curse on the creation, the worldwide flood, and the origin of nations and diverse languages at the tower of Babel. \u00a0(Genesis, Chapters 1-3, 4-6, 7-11)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Jesus Christ <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

His Incarnation <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe in Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Trinity, the Eternal Word manifested in the flesh. We believe that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and that He is true God and true man, having two distinct natures co-joined in one Person. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Jesus Christ was not created, but begotten (John 1:1,14; 3:16)\u2014fully God \u00a0(John 10:30; 17:5)\u00a0and fully man (Matt. 8:20; 26:12,38; John\u00a0 1:30; 4:6; 19:28; Heb. 2:18).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary; His conception was supernatural (Matt. 1:18-2:11).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

His Death <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of every human being and thus offers salvation as a free gift based on grace alone. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Jesus lived a sinless life (Heb. 4:15; 1 Pet. 2:22).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Jesus died a vicarious and atoning death for the sins of the world (John 11:50-52; Rom. 5:8-9; Titus 2:14; 1 Pet. 3:18; Matt. 20:28; Mark 10:45; 1 Cor. 6:20)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

His Resurrection <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ arose from the dead in the same physical body, though glorified, in which He had lived and died, and that His resurrection body is the pattern of that body that will be given to all believers at the return of Christ.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Jesus was resurrected bodily for our justification (Rom. 14:9; 1 Cor. 15:4-8) and now reigns in glory until all things are put under His feet (1 Tim. 3:16).\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

His Ascension <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven in the same glorified physical body in which He arose, was seated at His Father’s right hand, assuring us of the perfection of His work of redemption, and that He now, as Head over all things to the Church, is engaged on behalf of the saved as their only Advocate. (Luke 24:50-51, 1 Tim 2:5, Heb 9:15, 1 John 2:1)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

His Return <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe in the personal, imminent, and premillennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed followed by His millennial reign on earth. (Acts 1:9-11, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 20:1-7)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Mankind <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe that man was originally created in the image and likeness of God, and that he fell through sin; and that as a consequence of his sin, he became dead in trespasses and sins, and that he became subject to the power of the devil. We also believe that this spiritual death, or total depravity of human nature, has been transmitted to the entire human race, the Man Christ Jesus alone being excepted; and hence that every child of Adam is born into the world with a nature that is totally corrupt. (Genesis 1-3, Romans 3:9-18)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Salvation <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe that only those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior on the condition of faith alone, apart from all good works, are thereby born again of the Holy Spirit, are justified, and have become children of God. (John 1:12, 3:16-18, Romans 8:16, Ephesians 2:8-9)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Holy Spirit <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

<\/b>We believe that the Holy Spirit, being the Third Person of the Godhead, convicts men of sin, regenerates, indwells, baptizes, seals, and sets believers apart to a holy life; that He keeps and empowers believers day by day. We believe that He is the Teacher of the Word of God through which He guides us in our daily lives. We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in all believers, conforming them to the image of Jesus Christ. We believe that one evidence of being baptized in the Holy Spirit is \u201cspeaking in tongues\u201d as the Holy Spirit gives the utterance (Acts 2:4). (Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 3:16-17; 6:19; 12:13; John 16:8; John 16:12-14).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Holy Spirit seals our salvation (Rom. 8:23; 2 Cor. 1:21-22; Eph. 1:13-14; 4:30).
The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts as He wills (Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corinthians 12 -14).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Ordinances \u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ instituted only two ordinances: water baptism and the Lord’s Supper, to be observed until He comes. We believe that water baptism is not necessary for salvation but that it is an outward symbol of salvation and a sign of our obedience to Him. (Matthew 26:26-30, Luke 22:19-20; 1 Cor. 11:23-26)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Baptism in Water<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded in the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Lord\u2019s Supper<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Lord\u2019s Supper, consisting of the elements\u2014bread and the fruit of the vine\u2014is a memorial of His suffering and death (1 Cor. 11:26); and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Cor. 11:26); and is enjoined on all believers \u201ctill He comes!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Final State\u00a0 <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe in the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the eternal conscious punishment of the lost. \u00a0(Matthew 7:13-14, 25:46, Romans 2:5-6, Revelation 20:11-15)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

The Church\u00a0 <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe that the universal Church of Jesus Christ is composed of those who have been redeemed and washed in His blood, regenerated and sealed by the Holy Spirit, and that they are saved to worship and to serve; that it is the responsibility and privilege of all who are saved to seek to win others to Christ, to the “uttermost part of the earth”; that they should seek to live a holy life, to separate themselves from and forsake all that might dishonor God, cast discredit on His cause, or weaken their testimony. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Satan <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

We believe that there is a personal devil, a being of great cunning and power, who is “the prince and the power of the air,” “the prince of this world,” and “the god of this age.” We believe that he can exert vast power but only as far as God permits him to do so, and that he, together with his angels, the beast and the false prophet, shall ultimately be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone and shall be tormented day and night forever. (Genesis 3, Job 1:6 \u2013 2:6 ff, Matthew 4:1-11, 25:41, Ephesians 2:2, 6:11-18, Rev. 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
