3 Steps to Salvation

Step 1: Be willing to start a personal relationship with God that will never end.

Step 2: Realize God sent Jesus to die on the cross for your sins and has raised Him from the dead so you can have eternal life with God.

Step 3: Make Jesus Lord of your life by speaking the “Salvation Prayer” OUT LOUD (Romans 10:9-10,13).

Salvation Scriptures
Romans 10:9-10, 13
NIV

9If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is LORD,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Salvation Prayer

“Dear God in heaven, I come to you today as a lost sinner.

I am asking you to save me, and cleanse me, from all my sins.

I realize in my heart, my need of salvation, which can only come through Jesus Christ.

I am accepting Christ into my heart, and what he did for me on the cross, in order to purchase my redemption.

In obedience to your word, I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in my heart, that God has raised him from the dead.

You have said in your Word, which cannot lie, “for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.”

I have called upon your name, exactly as you have said, and I believe right now, I am saved.  Amen!”

Salvation Involves Your Heart
 and Your Mouth

Romans 10:5-13

There is no ceremony required for salvation.

There is no prescription or ten steps to be saved.

Salvation comes through two things:

  1. Confess with your mouth
  2. Believe in your heart

Someone can help you with the confess with your mouth part.

A pastor can give you a sample prayer to pray, or you can find some simple guidelines in most Christian publications.

There are no specific words you must say and no hoops to jump through.

Telling God what you believe about Jesus in your own words is your confession.

Your conversion is public, making known to anyone who will listen, that you are a child of the Almighty God.

There is no such thing as private faith.

That initial moment of confessing Christ with your mouth initiates a lifelong project of believing with your heart.

Faith is about believing God, and your faith actions are grounded in your belief.

Believing is not just something you mentally agree with; it must be lived out through your entire being.

That’s because believing is not just a brain activity.

It’s a heart activity.

CASE AND POINT:

If you say you believe God is all-powerful, then you show it.

You don’t lose hope when bad times come.

You go to Him for direction, strength, and endurance.

You get your power from Him instead of yourself.

CASE AND POINT FROM THE OTHER SIDE:

If you say you believe God is all-knowing, but then argue with Him over a certain command, or simply ignore Him and rebelliously do whatever you want to do, you show that you don’t believe God.

Your life proves your faith.

You live what you believe.

And God is right there next to you to hear your confession and to walk with you through life.

Have you confessed with your mouth?

Does your life show that you believe with your heart?
